QuikClot™ is a commonsense, inexpensive solution to preventing deaths from excessive loss of blood, the leading cause of deaths from road traffic accidents, gunshot wounds, disasters and other events producing traumatic bleeding injuries. In use by the military for in-field treatment of battlefield wounds.

QuikClot is a remarkably effective medical treatment that accelerates coagulation of moderate to severe wounds, including high-volume venous and arterial bleeding. It rapidly removes liquid from the blood to concentrate clotting factors and stop bleeding on contact. Packaged in a sterile, single-dose package, QuikClot can be easily applied with only minimal instruction. Now anyone who can open a package can become a first responder. QuikClot is completely inert, making it safe to leave in the wound until the victim can be transported to a medical facility. QuikClot prevents deaths from hemorrhagic shock by stemming blood loss in the critical minutes before the availability of professional medical care. In situations with multiple life-threatening injuries, first responders can immediately stabilize all bleeding victims until triage can be performed.

QuikClot ACS™ (Advanced Clotting Sponge), a formulation and delivery system subsequent to the original QuikClot®, consists of beads of QuikClot® contained in a porous surgical fabric.
